Suzanne Morgan

Suzanne Morgan is a Native American artist of Cherokee ancestry. She has been making jewelry and leatherwork most of her life. She was guided in the traditional ways of leatherwork by a Cheyenne craftswoman in Oklahoma and learned beadwork from Indian elders in the Washington, DC area.

Suzanne's work includes a wide array of items ranging from Indian-inspired contemporary silver pieces to traditional buckskin medicine pouches. Her jewelry is created using silver, beads, fetishes, and other adornments. Her pouches range from small, simple ones to larger, elaborate ones that are suitable as art objects. All of Suzanne's work is designed to include Native symbolism. She includes educational information with many of her pieces.

Suzanne established her own business Native Spirit in 1991 in which she sells her own artwork as well as work from other Native artists. She sells her work at juried craft shows, local Indian pow wows, and government offices in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She also markets her products wholesale and is expanding her web site.
