Artist Biography

Suzanne Morgan is a Native artist and has been making unique jewelry and leather work. She was guided in the traditional ways of leatherwork by a Cheyenne craftswoman in Oklahoma and learned beadwork from Indian elders.

Suzanne's work includes a wide array of items ranging from Indian-inspired contemporary silver pieces to traditional buckskin medicine pouches. Her jewelry is created using sterling silver, beads, fetishes, turquoise and other adornments. All of Suzanne's work is designed to include Native symbolism. She includes educational information with many of her pieces.

Suzanne established her own business called Native Spirit in 1991. She sells her own jewelry as well as from other Native artists at local craft shows, Indian pow wows, and government offices in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC.
